Under Grade 2 Computer Science's Strand SC.2.CC: Communication and Collaboration, there are a total of four standards. One of these four standards includes Standard 1 SC.2.CC.1: Communicate Information with digital tools. Standard 1 SC.2.CC.1 has four substandards that are SC.2.CC.1.1, SC.2.CC.1.2, SC.2.CC.1.3, and SC.2.CC.1.4. These four substandards require for students to be able to name multiple technological devices that can be utilized to communicate, compare and contrast the Internet, websites, and online applications, successfully complete standard Internet searches, and to identify concepts represented by simplistic simulations. Based on my current skill set, I feel confident in being able to implement this standard into the curriculum of my future class. I am familiar with all of these actions and have had personal experience with all four of these requirements.

I selected the Grade 2 Toolkit and selected STEM Lessons - Model Eliciting Activity under the Mathematics section where I found dozens of different resources to potentially incorporate into my future classroom. These resources included worksheets, student center activities, teaching ideas, lesson plans, and original student tutorials. I can implement these resources into my future classroom by drawing inspiration from them when lesson planning and by replicating the activities with my own students. One resource that stood out to me during my search was the Place Value Puzzler. This student center activity requires for students to use problem-solving skills and teamwork to determine the placement of the correct digits to reveal a secret number. This activity would be a fun and interactive way to incorporate logic and reasoning into the classroom.

It is crucial to be a proficient Internet searcher as an educator in order to obtain desired information as efficiently and possible. It is also important to be informed about selecting reliable sources to find information to ensure that the information is correct. Of the Internet searching skill that were mentioned, I believe that the skill I will use the most frequently going forward will be standard Google searching. One skill that I would like to explore more is the Google advanced search feature. The idea of being able to complete a search without having to filter through undesired information is very intriguing to me and I am excited to give this a try in the future.
