Under Grade 2 Computer Science's Strand SC.2.CC: Communication and Collaboration, there are a total of four standards. One of these four standards includes Standard 1 SC.2.CC.1: Communicate Information with digital tools. Standard 1 SC.2.CC.1 has four substandards that are SC.2.CC.1.1, SC.2.CC.1.2, SC.2.CC.1.3, and SC.2.CC.1.4. These four substandards require for students to be able to name multiple technological devices that can be utilized to communicate, compare and contrast the Internet, websites, and online applications, successfully complete standard Internet searches, and to identify concepts represented by simplistic simulations. Based on my current skill set, I feel confident in being able to implement this standard into the curriculum of my future class. I am familiar with all of these actions and have had personal experience with all four of these requirements.      I selected the Grade 2 Toolkit and selected STEM Lessons - Model Eliciting A...

I would say that I have enjoyed my blogging experience so far. I like how my posts appear together on a feed where I can easily view all of my posts at once rather than having my submissions disbursed among several assignments.  My sole complaint is that I have struggled with being able to switch between viewing and editing my blog with ease.  Throughout the blogging process, I have learned about personal learning networks, the ISTE's Standards for Educators, and digital natives/digital immigrants.      Generative AI can be used by educators to personalize learning to fit the needs of each individual student, enhance creativity when brainstorming for assignments, and to foster engagement among students. The downsides of integrating AI into an academic setting include negative perceptions, lack of technology skills, an extensive list of ethical concerns, cost and availability of technology, and lack of research. Generative AI can be utilized as an a...

Throughout the course of my academic career, I have very infrequently used MS Word. In elementary, middle, and high school, Google Docs was the main word processing platform I used. After obtaining a Macbook my senior year of high school, I began to transition to Pages as my preferred word processing platform. I personally prefer Pages over Google Docs and MS Word because it does not require a Wi-fi connection to access and edit documents. I find it much more convenient to not have to rely on a stable Wi-fi connection to count on my documents to save changes, as opposed to Google Docs. I am very unfamiliar with MS Word, so I cannot properly attest to its pros and cons.          One of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)'s Standards for Educators includes Standard 2.1: Learner. This standard encourages teachers to continue to expand their knowledge to better their abilities as an educator. To do this, the three ways t...

In this class, I hope to learn about the various technological resources that are available to teachers. I hope to use these resources to enhance my abilities as both a student and an educator. In the future, I will integrate the technologies that I find to be the most useful in my classroom. Introducing technology in a classroom setting will be beneficial to both myself and my students to optimize their education and my ability to educate.      Technology has played a vital role throughout the entire course of my academic career. In elementary school, I had computer class on a weekly basis. In computer class, we were introduced to online programs that taught us how to type properly and efficiently. In middle school, Google Classroom began to become prevalent as a method for completing and turning in assignments. Also during the time I was in middle school, Promethean boards replaced projectors, further integrating technology into the day-to-day ...
